Strongest earthquake in 25 years, tsunami warning in Taiwan

Tokyo: Strong earthquake in Taiwan 7.4 intensity was recorded on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The footage of the buildings collapsing has emerged. Reuters reports that many people are trapped. Tsunami warnings have been issued for Taiwan, southern Japan and the Philippines after the earthquake.

The strongest earthquake in Taiwan in 25 years is reported. One person died and more than 50 were injured in the 7.2-magnitude earthquake. Taiwan’s Meteorological Center said the earthquake was located along the east coast. Meanwhile, Japan has advised people in coastal areas to evacuate.

There is a warning that a tsunami can reach up to ten feet high. The warning also says that they are likely to reach the southwest coast of Japan. The meteorological department also said that a tsunami with a height of about one foot was recorded in Yonaguni Island. Taiwanese media reported that several buildings collapsed in the eastern city of Hualien.
