Several students were injured during the Kilimanoor sub-district sports meet after running on a synthetic track without proper spike shoes. The intense heat from the track caused the skin on their feet to peel off, resulting in painful injuries.
Three students were immediately admitted to the hospital after the incident. The synthetic track, which requires the use of spike shoes for protection, became too hot, causing the severe injuries to the students’ feet as they ran barefoot or with inappropriate footwear. The event took place at the Sreepada Sports Hub in Kilimanoor.
