Thiruvananthapuram: As the summer rains continue in Kerala, the Central Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for two districts each today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has made a rain forecast for the northern districts. A yellow alert has been issued for Kozhikode and Wayanad districts today. A yellow alert has also been issued for Malappuram and Wayanad districts tomorrow.
Isolated heavy rains are expected. Heavy rain is defined as rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there will be no restrictions on fishing along the Kerala – Karnataka – Lakshadweep coasts today (09/04/2025).
The National Centre for Oceanographic Studies and Research (INCOIS) has informed that there is a possibility of sea erosion due to high waves of 0.9 to 1.2 meters along the Kanyakumari coast from 11.30 pm today (09/04/2025) to 02.30 pm tomorrow (10/04/2025). Fishermen and coastal residents have also been advised to be vigilant as there is a possibility of sea erosion.
