Supreme Court asks Baba Ramdev to appear in person

The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Baba Ramdev on Patanjali’s misleading advertisements and directed him to appear in person.

The Supreme Court strongly criticized Patanjali Ayurveda and its MD Acharya Balakrishna for not filing a response in the negligence proceedings.

The Supreme Court directed the yoga guru and Balakrishnan to appear and answer the contempt proceedings regarding the advertisement of the company’s products and their medicinal properties.

The Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) alleging that Ramdev had launched a defamatory campaign against the vaccination drive and modern medicines.
