Suriya turns 46, celebs wish Soorarai Pottru star happy birthday

Suriya, who was last seen in director Sudha Kongara Prasad’s Soorarai Pottru, is celebrating his 46th birthday today, July 23. Actor Suriya has never taken his stardom for granted and is quite decisive about choices he makes for every film. An actor who experiments with his characters as he doesn’t like to repeat himself. His gamble doesn’t always pay off but that doesn’t keep him from trying out new things.

On the eve of Suriya’s birthday, the title and first-look poster of his 40th film were announced. Directed by Pandiraj, the rural entertainer has been titled Etharkum Thunindhavan. Since yesterday (July 22), social media is filled with wishes from his fans and friends from the film industry. Suriya’s brother Karthi and colleagues including Radikaa, Manjima Mohan, Soori, among others, wished him a happy birthday on social media. Born to Tamil actor Sivakumar and Lakshmi, this heartthrob has won millions of acts with his performance. Suriya has two younger sibling – Karthi and Brindha. He could have easily gotten a career in acting industry, but Suriya did not directly stepped into the entertainment industry. He first worked at a garment exports factory for eight months. He initially did not have any interest in the acting field and hence he turned down the film Aasai.

It was at the age of 22 he made his acting debut with Mani Ratnam produced Nerrukku Ner. Even Suriya has had his own ups and downs. He did not have a great start in the film industry, there were films which turned out to be a flop commercially. It was Nandha, the 2001 film that gave Suriya the much-needed break. And then slowly, everything started falling in place for him. He started giving back to back hits such as Kaakha Kaakha, Pithamagan, Aaytha Ezhuthu, and so on. Suriya is known as the king of romance down south.
