Thiruvananthapuram: CPM with decisions rejecting PV Anwar completely. It has been decided that there is no party investigation against P Sasi on the complaints raised by Nilambur Left MLA PV Anwar. The CPM state secretariat meeting also decided not to hastily remove ADGP MR Ajith Kumar from the charge of law and order.
It has been decided that action can be taken after all types of investigation reports are completed. The official explanation came in the discussion at the CPM state secretariat that the matter was clarified by the Chief Minister himself. Further action will be taken as per the recommendation of Home Secretary in Thrissur Pooram Kalakal incident. As a vigilance investigation and another investigation led by the DGP are going on against the ADGP, the CPM has taken a decision to change the ADGP if necessary after the report of all this is received.
In today’s cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister had hinted that a further investigation would be announced in the Thrissur Pooram riots. In the Cabinet meeting, Revenue Minister K Rajan demanded strong action in the Pooram riots. The chief minister explained that the decision will be taken after considering the recommendation of the home department secretary on the ADGP’s report.
The Chief Minister first informed the Cabinet meeting that he had received the ADGP’s report on Pooram Kalakal along with the DGP’s covering letter. It was after this that the CPI’s political position was raised in the Cabinet as the seriousness of the incident. K Rajan said that the situation has changed since the time ADGP’s inquiry was announced. K Rajan called for the seriousness of the Pooram riots and demanded strong investigation and action.
The Chief Minister explained that further action can be taken after knowing the recommendation of the Home Secretary. It is on the recommendation of the DGP that the ADGP is completely under suspicion and the way for re-investigation is opened. The DGP raised the question as to what Ajit Kumar did despite being on the spot and why it took five months to submit the report. The police chief also raised the doubts raised by the CPI and the opposition, which has brought the government to the point where a new investigation is needed. A crime branch investigation is likely. Ajith Kumar casts doubt on Thiruvambadi Devaswat while DGP blames Ajith Kumar.
