NADA notice to sportsperson Vinesh Phogat for not appearing for doping test. The action is based on the fact that Vinesh Phogat was not there when he went for a doze test last month. Hence it was not possible to take samples for doping testing. Following this, the Anti-Doping Agency has sent a notice to Vinesh Phogat asking him to give an explanation within 14 days. This is the first time Vinesh Phogat has received such a notice.
Meanwhile, it is indicated that no action will be taken against Vinesh Phogat at present. NADA will only take action if they fail to provide samples for dope testing three times in a 12-month period.
Earlier, Vinesh Phogat retired from wrestling after losing a medal in the Paris Olympics. Vinesh was competing in the 50 kg category. However, they were disqualified after their weight increased by 100 grams. Vinesh Phogat had contested the Haryana assembly elections as a Congress candidate.
