Kochi Metro’s Tripunithura Terminal was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister inaugurated through online from Kolkata. Tripunithura is the last station of Metro Phase 1. Industry Minister P Rajeev, Hybi Eden MP, K Babu and others participated in the event.
The first metro train named Ganga was launched from Tripunithura. The construction of the first phase of the metro took place at a cost of Rs 7377 crore. The first journey was from Tripunithura to SN Junction.
After the inauguration, the first train with differently-abled children will depart from Tripunithura for Aluva. Then the service to the public will begin. Tripunithura is the last station of Kochi Metro Phase 1.
Aluva to Tripunithura is a distance of 28.2 km in the first phase of the Kochi Metro. It consists of 25 stations. The total cost for the first phase was Rs 7,377 crore.
