The service of Kannur – Shornur – Kannur Express has been extended as a relief to the train passengers in the Malabar region. Apart from this, the service which was only four days a week was made seven days.
The train, which was expected to end its service in July, has been extended in a phased manner till December 31. The train will start running every day from November 1. At present the service is only available for four days. With this, the long-standing need of the travelers is fulfilled. There were no trains from Kozhikode to the north after 6 pm. This neglect of Railways was when Malabar was leading in the revenue figures.
At five o’clock Parasuram there was no place to step. There are only two general coaches in Netravati, which comes after. If the Kannur Express leaves at 6.15, the Kannur Executive Express should arrive three hours later at 9.30. But for Vandebharat Alappuzha Kannur Executive Express will be delayed for an hour on the way. All these difficulties changed to some extent when the special train started running.
