Thiruvananthapuram: The third Hanuman monkey who jumped from Thiruvananthapuram Zoo has returned. The three monkeys jumped out of the cage by holding on to the bamboo cage, which was tilted due to the rain that fell last night. Two other Hanuman monkeys had climbed into the cage the previous day. But this monkey did not bother to climb into the cage. That is what was caught today.
It was caught around noon today. Hanuman monkey was brought down from the tree by KSEB air lift in the afternoon. KSEB PMG unit was used for this. The initiative is led by the staff including the zoo director. Hanuman brought down the monkey after an hour long effort. With this, all the three monkeys who jumped out of the cage were put into the cage. The third Hanuman monkey was caught with the help of KSEB.
Two monkeys returned to the cage on Tuesday. The cage was brought back from a tree inside the zoo premises. The zoo was put on leave after the three monkeys did not enter the cage.
