Thiruvananthapuram: Transformer exploded and caught fire. The incident took place on Tuesday night at 11.15 near Petta Police Station. It was the shopkeepers who first saw the smoke coming from the transformer and informed the police.
Later, the fire force was informed. Then a unit of fire force reached here and started trying to douse the fire. But the fire spread to the two vehicle which were kept by the police near the transformer.
Later, the second unit also reached the scene. A car, which was a trailer, was completely gutted. The fire is currently under control. No other risks.
