Thiruvananthapuram: The head of the engineering department has been suspended in the wake of the theft of timbers from RCC. It was found that the timber worth lakhs was smuggled under the guise of hospital renovation. The head of the engineering department, Giri Purushottaman, was suspended in the incident.
50 teak door sets were stolen. The timber was transported in the vehicle that came to pick up the goods. Action was taken against Giri Purushotham after the internal investigation found a lapse.
