Thiruvananthapuram: Government Indirectly Admits Collector’s Lapse After Joy’s Death; Transfers Collector Jeromic George and Three Others

Thiruvananthapuram: After the death of Joy, who died due to negligence of the authorities, the government indirectly accepted the failure of the collector. District Collector Jeromick George was replaced after Joy’s funeral. Along with the Thiruvananthapuram collector, three more collectors have been transferred.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Idukki Collectors have changed. Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Jeromick George replaced Anu Kumari as Collector. Jeromick George was appointed as Director of Backward Welfare. Kottayam Collector V. Vigneswari was appointed as the Collector of Idukki. John V Samulav is the new collector of Kottayam.

Idukki Collector Sheeba George has also been transferred as Additional Secretary in the Revenue Department. The government has also appointed Sriram Venkataraman as the joint secretary of the finance department. In the incident of the death of a sanitation worker in the Amaijhanchan gorge, there was criticism that the Collector and the Mayor failed to coordinate the various departments and speed up the rescue operation.
