Union Minister Suresh Gopi said that those who tried to stop the Vizhinjam port project are now taking credit. Whoever came up with the plan should put their hand on their chest and say it. Suresh Gopi said that I am not with the pushers related to the Vizhinjam project. Those who have been struggling since 97 have worked for Vizhinja. Suresh Gopi said, “The great people who are now taking credit should keep their hands on their chests and say whose plan is this.”
At the same time, the return journey of the San Fernando ship from Vizhinjam port may be delayed. As it is a trial run, it takes more time to unload the cargo from the ship. Port authorities said that around 1000 containers have been unloaded so far.
Once the container is unloaded, it will leave San Fernando shore today or tomorrow. San Fernando was scheduled to berth on the Colombo coast on the 15th. Depending on the ship’s return, it is suggested that the feeder ship will arrive to take the containers unloaded at Vizhinjam to Kolkata and Mumbai ports. Transshipment will take place once these also arrive.
Mothership San Fernando arrived at Vizhinjam port on Thursday morning. The cup was received with a water salute. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan formally received the San Fernando ship on Friday morning. Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was the chief guest on the occasion.
