Timber lorry overturns at Thamarassery pass, Car crashes into wall

Five people were injured when a car ran out of control and crashed into a wall in Thamarassery. A lorry loaded with timber overturned at the second turn of the pass and an accident occurred. There is also traffic control at the pass. Following the accident, vehicles are allowed to pass on one side of the pass.

The accident took place around 12 pm when the car went out of control and hit the wall. The car, which was coming from Mukkam towards Thamarassery, broke the pavement slab and hit the nearby wall.

The accident took place near the Thamarassery Veterinary Hospital on the Thamarassery-Mukkam state highway. Ashto, a native of Kotanchery Theiyapara, Albert, Albil and Gio, natives of Maikau, were admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and Basil, a native of Maikau, was admitted to a private hospital in Omassery.

At around 3:30 in the morning, a lorry loaded with timber overturned and an accident occurred at the second bend of the pass. The cause of the accident was that the lorry carrying wood from Wayanad lost its brakes. The occupants of the lorry escaped with minor injuries.
