Vadakancherry: Two dead in Thrissur due to lightning. The deceased have been identified as Ganeshan (50) and Nimisha (42), wife of Velekat Sudheer. Ganeshan was struck by lightning when he came to his ancestral home near Vidya Engineering College in Vellore Kurumal.
The incident took place on Saturday at 11.30 am. Ganesha was struck by lightning and the locals took him to the medical college hospital but could not be saved. The woman died due to lightning near her house at Valapad Kothakulam beach in Thriprayar. The incident took place around 10.30 am on Saturday. Nimisha went to bath in the bathroom outside the house. At this time there was heavy thunder and lightning. Nimisha did not come back after taking a bath when the family came and found her lying in the bathroom. She was taken to hospital but died. The wiring in the bathroom was melted. The bulb was blown.
