Waqf Amendment Bill Must Be Opposed Unitedly; Palayam Imam Suhaib Moulavi

Thiruvananthapuram: Palayam Imam Suhaib Moulavi has called for a united opposition against the Waqf Amendment Bill. He emphasized that Allah’s properties must be protected at all costs and cited the Quran, stating that Waqf properties are donated assets.

He asserted that believers must manage Waqf properties, as it aligns with the principles of the Quran. He further stated that the Waqf Bill goes against religious freedom. Speaking at the Eid Gah held at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Imam Suhaib Moulavi warned that efforts to amend the Waqf law are progressing systematically. He stressed that Waqf should not be used for materialistic interests.

“Allah’s assets must be safeguarded. Waqf properties belong to Allah. The amendments proposed in the bill are unacceptable under Waqf law. If the bill is passed, Waqf properties will be lost,” he cautioned. He urged people to express their strong opposition to the bill. His remarks came at a time when the people of Munambam continue their protest to protect their own land.
