Kalpatta: 12 students of Pookode Veterinary College have been suspended in the incident of student suicide. Akhil, Kashinathan, Amin Akbar, Cinto Johnson, Asif Khan, Arun K, Ajay, Saud Rizal, Altaf, Mohammad Danish, Amalsan and Adityan were suspended.
Siddhartha, a native of Nedumangad, a second year veterinary science graduate student of the college, committed suicide on the 18th. He was found hanging in the bathroom of the hostel. The initial conclusion was suicide. Another student informed the family about the death.
The student’s death has been ruled a murder. The family alleges that Siddharth was killed by his classmates. The family alleges that there were some problems between the students in the college last Valentine’s Day and Siddharth was beaten up by his friends and seniors.
The family has filed a complaint with the ADGP seeking to unravel the mystery behind Siddharth’s death. Siddharth’s father filed a complaint with ADGP Ajit Kumar. Siddharth’s father responded that the students did not reveal the truth due to threats from the college authorities.
