Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K.Surendran said that the failure of the state ministers to rescue Arjun, a Malayali driver trapped in a landslide in Karnataka, was a criminal negligence of the government. He also asked in the statement why the ministers who came to the airport with bags to go to Kuwait where everything was right did not go to save Arjun right there.
Even when a Malayali faced such a great plight, no one looked back. The Government of Karnataka has intervened with adversarial intelligence. K. Surendran also said that the BJP will protest strongly against the negligence of the Karnataka government. Navy, NDRF, SDRF Police and Fire Force are carrying out the rescue mission. A radar search has been started at Apakasthal. A team from Suratkal NIT is conducting the radar inspection.
Ten people including Arjun died in the accident. Seven bodies were found in the river. Arjun went on the 8th of this month with the lorry of Manaf, a native of Mukkam, to bring wood from Karnataka. The last time he called home was on the 16th.
