The capital city is gearing up for Atukal Pongala. Tomorrow is the famous Attukal Pongala. Since yesterday evening, places have been arranged for offering Pongal in many places of the city. The municipality and the police informed that all the preparations have been completed. Due to extreme heat, the municipality and various organizations have made more preparations for the supply of drinking water. Traffic is under control in the capital from noon today to 8 pm tomorrow.
Devotees coming for Pongal should park only in designated areas for vehicles. Do not park vehicles near Pongal fireplaces. The directive also states that Pongala ovens should not be installed on tiled footpaths. Parking of vehicles on city roads is also prohibited.
According to the guidelines issued by the city police, the gold ornaments of the devotees who come for Ponkala are likely to be stolen in the rush and are attached to their clothes with a safety pin to ensure safety.
