Kannur: The Youth Congresswave black flags to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur, demanding his resignation for allegedly insulting minorities. The protest took place when the Chief Minister’s convoy was passing through Kannur Caltex. The protest was led by Youth Congress District President Vigil Mohan and State General Secretary Rahul Vechiyot, both of whom were arrested by the Town Police.
The Muslim League also reacted strongly against the Chief Minister’s remarks about Malappuram. They accused Pinarayi Vijayan of being the first Chief Minister to insult an entire district while holding office. The League warned that if the Chief Minister does not retract his actions aimed at insulting a region to protect his family’s wrongdoings and retain power, the protests will intensify in the coming days.
