₹71.5 lakh being illegally transported in a private bus from Andhra Pradesh was seized. The Excise team took into custody Shivaprasad (59), a native of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, who was a passenger on the bus, during a vehicle inspection conducted by the Palakkad Excise Department.
The accused and the seized cash were later handed over to Palakkad Income Tax Inspector Vinod Babu for further action. The inspection was carried out by the Palakkad Excise Special Squad led by Circle Inspector Ajayakumar N.J.
The excise team also included Civil Excise Officers Sadasivan and Ahmed Kabir, Preventive Officers Pramod and Ajeesh T.V., and Assistant Excise Inspector Ajith Kumar P.
