Kalpetta: 1400 packets of banned tobacco product Hans were seized. The Hans packets were recovered during a joint inspection conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Squad and the Kambalakad police within the limits of the Kambalakad police station. The police arrested Sharif (49) of Nallamoochikkal house, 1st mile, Kaniyampatta.
The search was conducted at his shop and an empty house. 93 bundles of fifteen packets were seized. The search was based on a tip-off that Hans was keeping it for sale among students and children. Based on the tip-off, the anti-narcotics squad had been monitoring him.
