Kasaragod: Excise officials seized around 173 liters of Karnataka liquor that was being smuggled in an auto-rickshaw at Arikkad. The arrested individuals are Ganesh (39) and Rajesh (45). The excise team led by Kasaragod Excise Special Squad Inspector J. Joseph conducted the raid and apprehended the accused. The operation also included Excise Preventive Officers Ajeesh C., Civil Excise Officers Manjunathan V., Mohana Kumar, and Rajesh P.
In another incident, an Odisha native was arrested near the Chalakudy railway station with 1.6 kilograms of cannabis intended for sale. The accused was identified as Basant Bhoy from Kandagad, Odisha. The Chalakudy Excise Range team, led by Inspector C.U. Harish, conducted the search and found the contraband. The excise team included Inspector Aneesh Kumar Puthillan, Assistant Excise Inspectors Raju K.K., Shivan N.U., Shiju Varghese, and Woman Civil Excise Officer Kavya K.S.
