27 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Kochi. The arrests were made in the city after they entered the country without proper documents. The arrests were made in a joint raid by the police and the anti-terrorist force. Many Bangladeshis are arriving from Kerala.
They were arrested during a raid in Kochi under the name of Clean Rural. They were staying in a lodge-like house in North Paravur with fake Aadhaar cards. It is learnt that they arrived in the country three months ago. A detailed investigation is underway as it is a matter affecting national security.
It is reported that women were among the arrested. Out of the 50 people taken into custody, 23 were identified as being from other states. Similarly, 7 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested the day after they were released.
