A petition filed in the High Court over singing a revolutionary song during the Kadakkal temple festival

A petition has been filed in the High Court against the singing of a revolutionary song during the Kadakkal Devi Temple festival. The petition argues that the sanctity of the festival ceremony was tarnished. It also demands a directive to prevent the use of the Kadakkal temple premises for political propaganda.

The petitioner, Adv. Vishnu Sunil Panthala, stated that the revolutionary song was sung, and flags were displayed during a musical program. The High Court will consider the petition today.

A contempt of court petition has also been filed regarding the incident. The respondents in the case include the Secretary of the Travancore Devaswom Board and office bearers of the temple festival committee. The petitioner, N. Prakash, a resident of Maradu, alleges that the incident at Kadakkal Temple was a violation of the High Court’s order.
