Chennai: Music maestro A.R. Rahman and his wife Saira have announced their decision to part ways after 29 years of marriage. The couple’s children have now come forward, urging for privacy during this challenging time.
Rahman’s son, Ameen Rahman, was the first to address the matter on Instagram. His daughter, Raheema Rahman, also shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, requesting people to handle the issue with “utmost respect and privacy.” She wrote, “If this matter can be dealt with respectfully and privately, I would be immensely grateful. Thank you for your consideration.”
Raheema further expressed that it is a deeply personal matter and emphasized that no one has the right to advise, comment, or use emojis of sadness on the subject. She stated, “They know what is best for them. Let them make their choices.”
Meanwhile, Saira, in her statement, revealed that the couple decided to separate due to irreconcilable emotional differences. She mentioned it was a deeply painful decision but a necessary one.
