Achu Oommen, daughter of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, said that Anil Antony, the NDA candidate from Pathanamthitta, is a childhood friend and therefore cannot campaign against him. Achu Oommen also said that she will campaign for Congress candidates across the state except Pathanamthitta.
AK Antony and Oommen Chandy were leaders who were equal to Congress. Both were friends. Oommen Chandy passed away last year. Anil Antony joined the BJP shocking the Congress camp. Former Chief Minister K Karunakaran’s daughter and Congress leader Padmaja Venugopal also joined the BJP.
In Pathanamthitta, Anil Antony is facing Congress sitting MP Antony and senior CPIM leader and two-time state finance minister Thomas Isaac. Achu Oommen focused on modelling, Achu is based out of Dubai.
