Kochi: The Kerala High Court has granted anticipatory bail to actor Babu Raj in connection with a rape case filed by a junior artist. However, the court directed the actor to cooperate with the investigation and surrender before the investigating officer within 10 days.
The junior artist alleged that Babu Raj sexually assaulted her at his residence in Aluva and at a resort. According to her complaint, the actor lured her with promises of opportunities in the film industry before committing the assault.
The police registered a case against Babu Raj based on the victim’s email complaint to the State Police Chief, which was forwarded to the Adimali Police. The victim, a former employee at Babu Raj’s resort, also provided information over the phone, following which the police initiated an investigation.
