Idukki Kattappana Mangat MC Chacko (75), popularly known as MC Kattappana, passed away. Died while undergoing treatment for age-related ailments. He was active in theater for decades and acted in many films.
Kattapana played a notable role in the films kazhcha, Amritham, Pagal, Palunk and Maduchandralekha. In 2007, he received the State Government Award for Best Actor for his performance in Kollam Arena’s play Aarum Kothikunnamannu.
In 2014, he received the Abhinayasree Award of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. The plays made unique by MC Kattappana are Odayilninnu, Vaarvemayam, Perunthachan, Arm kothikunnamannu etc.
