Kochi: The brutal assault of an actress occurred in February 2017 while she was traveling in a moving vehicle in Kochi. Actor Dileep and eight others are named as accused in the case. The final arguments have now commenced in the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court.
Although the prosecution requested additional time for the arguments, the court did not grant it. The witness examination concluded a month ago. The prosecution will present its arguments first, based on witness testimonies and submitted evidence, followed by the defense’s response.
Meanwhile, the survivor has filed a contempt petition in the trial court against former DGP R. Sreelakha over her statement claiming there is no evidence against actor Dileep.
Previously, two individuals were removed from the list of accused, and one was made an approver in the case. Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, was granted bail by the Supreme Court a few days ago, seven and a half years after the incident.
