Film and serial actress Meena Ganesh (82) passed away. She passed away this morning while undergoing treatment for an age-related illness. She has acted in more than 100 films and many serials. Meena Ganesh made her debut in the film industry from the theatre field. She has played notable roles in several films such as Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, Valkannadi, Nandanam, Meesamadhavan and Punaradhivasam. She is the wife of film and theatre actor A. N. Ganesh. The news of the actress’s death was shared by Seema G. Nair on social media.

Meena Ganesh passed away..She was a famous drama, film and serial actress in Kerala..Meenamma has played the role of Meenamma in more than 200 films..She has also acted in plays with my mother..I cannot forget her role in the film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, Karumadikuttan..I was also lucky to work with Meenamma..That too is my luck..My mother’s unique voice rings in my ears..My tributes to Meenamma
She is the daughter of actor K. P. Kesavan, who acted in Tamil films. Meena first entered the theatre industry through the Koppam Brothers Arts Club during her school days. She then became active in theatre and performed in Malayalam societies in Coimbatore, Erode and Salem.
In 1971, she married renowned playwright, director and actor A. N. Ganesh. After their marriage, Meena and Ganesh started a theatre troupe in Shoranur called Pournami Kalamandir. However, due to financial crisis, the troupe had to be disbanded within three years.
