After resignation, a new mission: P V Anwar appointed as Trinamool Congress Kerala Convenor

New Delhi: PV Anwar resigned from his post as an MLA today. Anwar met Speaker AN Shamseer at around 9 am and handed over his resignation letter. Following the resignation, Trinamool Congress appointed PV Anwar as the Kerala convener.

Anwar had announced that he was resigning from the MLA post on the instructions of West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee. There are also indications that Anwar may be given the Rajya Sabha seat that falls vacant in the Trinamool Congress.

PV Anwar has announced that he will not contest from Nilambur. The decision has been made to provide unconditional support to the Congress candidate fielded by the UDF. PV Anwar announced that he will not contest from Nilambur at a press conference held in Thiruvananthapuram after resigning from his post as an MLA.
