The Neyyattinkara Gopan Swami tomb will not be demolished for now

Thiruvananthapuram: The tomb of Neyyattinkara Gopan Swami will not be demolished for the time being. An order was received to demolish the tomb in the Samadhi controversy. Following this, a huge protest was raised when the move was made to reach the spot. Following this, the decision was taken not to demolish the tomb immediately as there was a possibility of conflict.

The District Collector had ordered a halt to the proceedings until a final decision was taken on the matter. With this, the Sub-Collector and his team returned from the area. After the decision to demolish the tomb, a dispute broke out between the locals and Hindu organization activists.

The police tried to remove both groups from the spot. However, a clash broke out between the two groups again. One group argued that no notice had been given to demolish the tomb, and that since it was a place where pujas were performed and owned by the family, it was not possible to demolish the tomb.
