Bengaluru: The court has adjourned the hearing of actor Allu Arjun’s bail plea in the Pushpa 2 premiere show incident in which a woman died in a stampede to January 3. The petition is being heard by the Nampally Magistrate’s Court. Allu Arjun had approached the Magistrate’s Court seeking permanent bail. The actor is currently out on one-month interim bail.
The tragedy occurred at Sandhya Theatre on December 4th during the premiere of the film Pushpa 2. Revathi (39), a native of Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, died in a stampede that occurred when Allu Arjun arrived at the theatre where the screening was being held. Revathi’s son is undergoing treatment with serious injuries. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun, an accused in the murder case, was questioned by the Hyderabad police for three hours. It is reported that the actor evaded many of the police’s questions without giving proper answers.
The police have also taken Allu Arjun’s security manager into custody after releasing CCTV footage of the bouncers who were with Allu at the theatre
that The Hyderabad police had arrested Allu Arjun and the theatre management for allegedly causing a stampede. Allu Arjun was arrested by the Telangana police on the evening of December 13. However, the actor was released on interim bail by the Telangana High Court the next morning. Allu was granted four-week interim bail on a bond of Rs 50,000.
