An Ambassador car caught fire this morning around 9 AM on the Perumbavoor-Aluva-Munnar road. The incident took place near the Iringol Vaidyashalapadi petrol pump, with the car sustaining partial damage due to the blaze.
The car, owned by George, a resident of Mudikkarai in Kuruppumpady, began to emit smoke, prompting the passengers to quickly exit and move to safety. Firefighters arrived on the scene and managed to bring the fire under control, limiting the damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, all passengers escaped without injuries. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
The accident occurred during peak traffic hours, with many vehicles on the road. There was also an electric pole nearby, but major damage was averted thanks to the timely intervention of the fire department.
