Amma Organization Faces Split, 20 Members Reportedly Approached FEFKA to Form a Trade Union

Amma (AMMA) is reportedly split. According to reports, about 20 members have met FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan to form a trade union.

Currently there are 21 organizations from the film industry. 20 members approached B Unnikrishnan with the demand to form a new organization including film stars. Unnikrishnan said that there are seventeen actors and three actresses.

According to the report, B. Unnikrishnan informed them that after the approval of FEFKA’s General Council, he would make his position known. B. Unnikrishnan stated that the FEFKA leadership has informed that it will be considered if the trade union is formed and comes with the name information.

A collective resignation took place in Amma recently. Mohanlal, who was the president, resigned and the executive was dismissed. After the Hema committee report, more people came forward to complain about sexual harassment in the film industry.
