Reporter TV Consulting Editor Dr. Arun Kumar and Digital Senior Sub-Editor Shabas have been granted anticipatory bail by the High Court in a POCSO case. The court’s verdict was delivered without criticism of the police or the government. There have been rumors circulating that the police were criticized for taking up the case.
The case alleges inappropriate behavior towards minors during the state school festival, which was filed by the State Child Welfare Committee.
Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan, who considered the petition, granted bail to both accused. If bail had been denied, Arun Kumar had already relocated to Delhi to avoid arrest.
The bail was granted with conditions. The High Court inquired whether the minor girl or her parents had filed a complaint. The case is registered under Crime Number 41/2025 at the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police Station. According to the verdict, if the accused are arrested, they should be released on bail after fulfilling bond conditions.
