Thiruvananthapuram: A father succumbed to injuries sustained in a brutal assault by his drug-addicted son while undergoing treatment. The deceased, Harikumar, a native of Porunthaman in Kilimanoor, passed away early today at the Medical College Hospital. The incident occurred on January 15, when Harikumar’s son, Adithyan, violently attacked him after returning home under the influence of drugs.
Harikumar sustained injuries to his face and head and was admitted to the Medical College Hospital on the same day. However, it was initially reported at the hospital that his injuries were due to a bike accident.
Harikumar succumbed to his injuries during treatment today. The police are currently questioning his son, Adithyan, in connection with the incident. Further action will be taken based on the postmortem report.
