Ban on ‘Intifada’, VC’s order is out, name should not be used in poster, notice and social media

Thiruvananthapuram: VC Mohan Kunnummel has issued an order banning the name ‘Intifada’ for the Kerala University Arts Festival. Do not use name in poster, notice and social media. After the ABVP approached the High Court, the VC issued an order barring the name.

The VC said that the explanation given by the university union in the incident was not satisfactory. First year student of Nilamel NSS College and ABVP activist A.S. Ashish approached the High Court demanding that the name of the arts festival be changed.

The petitioner demanded that the name of the festival should not be given to this term, which is related to the Hamas-Israeli war. The High Court had sent notices to the Governor, Kerala University Vice-Chancellor and Kerala University Union on the petition. This is followed by the action of the VC.
