Thrissur: BJP leader Shobha Surendran has responded to a photo released by Anto Augustine, a defendant in the Muttil tree-cutting case. Speaking at a press conference in Thrissur, Shobha addressed the image showing her with Anto at an event, clarifying that it was from a program where Anto, who was then a leader in P.C. Thomas’ party, was present.
Shobha stated that she visited Anto’s residence during a party outreach event alongside Dheen Dayal, a constituency general secretary. She alleged that Anto joined the BJP through P.C. Thomas’ party and warned that any gangster-like actions from him would have repercussions. Shobha accused Anto of past legal issues, including a fraud case involving Bank of Baroda and an alleged involvement in a fabricated audio scandal spread by Crime Nandakumar.
In addition, Shobha reiterated her earlier claim that Anto orchestrated a conspiracy involving Tiroor Satheesh, who, according to her, had been manipulated by Anto. She demanded that if there was proof against her, it should be made public, and announced plans to file a defamation case against Anto. She further accused Anto of attempting to push her to the brink of suicide by spreading false allegations through his channel and pledged to take legal action against him.
