New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra today to strengthen the election campaign, addressing rallies in Dhule and Nasik. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also be in Maharashtra, speaking at four public meetings in Shirala, Karad South, Sangli, and Ichalkaranji constituencies.
On November 12, the Prime Minister is set to participate in a roadshow in Pune. The main contest in the Maharashtra Assembly election is between the ruling Maha Yuti Alliance, comprising BJP, Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction, and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction, Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, and Congress.
The election for Maharashtra’s 288-seat Assembly will take place on November 20, with vote counting scheduled three days later. In the 2019 elections, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress held 44.
