Cherthala Native Siji Becomes the State’s First Woman Dafadar

Siji from Cherthala has made history by assuming duties as the state’s first woman Dafadar at the Alappuzha Collectorate.

Siji took over the position following a promotion for the current Dafadar. She joined the Revenue Department in 2005 through the sports quota. “It’s a role of responsibility. Once we arrive in the morning, we stay here until the Collector leaves. We oversee all office matters, assist the public as needed, and inform the officer about any required assistance,” explained Siji regarding her role as Dafedar.

Siji is also a former sportsperson and an international powerlifter. She is a recipient of the GV Raja Award. Siji added that she is happy to be progressing in the role she always aspired to.
