Thiruvananthapuram: CITU said that the Chief Minister has suggested to stop the driving reforms. The decision has been taken in discussion with Chief Minister and CITU General Secretary Elamaram Karim.
CITU also informed that further action will be taken only after the discussion with the trade unions. Kerala Driving School Workers Union President KK Divakaran announced that the strike scheduled to be held in front of the Secretariat on 20th has been changed.
At the same time, the Transport Minister’s office informs that they have not officially received the Chief Minister’s instruction from the Chief Minister’s office. Driving reforms were ordered from May 1.
Earlier, state-wide protests were held over the reforms in the driving test. Following this, Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar responded that he had put forward suggestions and not orders. Minister Ganesh Kumar had informed that the driving reforms will come into effect from May 1.
