Congress to initiate a generational change; V D Satheesan to become opposition leader in Kerala

VD Satheesan is likely to become the next Opposition Leader in the Kerala Assembly

Following the results of the Kerala Assembly election, reports have emerged that the Congress led-United Democratic Front (UDF) will be making some differences in Congress state leadership. Reports have emerged that Paravur MLA VD Satheesan is likely to become the next Opposition Leader in the Kerala Assembly.

Many Congress leaders have started mumbling that people are not believing the words of Ramesh Chennithala as an opposition leader. According to them, the second term of Pinarayi Vijayan government proves the fact. Multiple circles within the party allege that Chennithala’s presence has not strengthened the party’s leadership. At the present situation, Satheesan’s talent in presenting various subjects and his public support as a young leader will favour him as the leader of the opposition. He also has got huge acceptance among the rank and file of the party because of his expertise in handling complex issues with elegance. With all these, V D Satheesan who won from a left dominated constituency with 21,031 votes despite a pro-left wave lashing across the state has a greater chance to get appointed to the post.

Among the 22 persons who won from the Congress party, Satheeshan is the next senior person after Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and P T Thomas. When Sudheeran was KPCC president, Satheesan was appointed as KPCC vice president as he was nominated by Rahul Gandhi.
