Rajiv Chandrasekhar has taken charge as the BJP state president. The official announcement was made by Prahlad Joshi. The decision of the central leadership was put forward by Prakash Javadekar in the core committee meeting. Rajiv Chandrasekhar filed his nomination papers yesterday in the presence of the leaders.
Subsequently, Rajeev Chandrasekhar was officially declared as the state president at the state council held in Thiruvananthapuram today.
Rajiv Chandrasekhar was the Minister of State for Electronics and IT in the second Narendra Modi government. He was a three-term Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka from 2006 to 2024.
He also served as the Co-Chairman of the Defence Standing Committee, the Finance Consultative Committee, the NCC Central Advisory Committee, and the Bengaluru Urban District and District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee.
