A petition has been filed in the High Court demanding the cancellation of appointments made at Madayi College, where M.K. Raghavan serves as chairman. The petition was submitted by Congress workers from Kunjimangalam, Kannur, seeking to revoke four appointments, including that of Raghavan’s relative.
The petition alleges that the appointments were made in exchange for money and that proper procedures were not followed. Congress workers had publicly protested, accusing M.K. Raghavan MP of appointing a CPM worker who is his relative. In response to the controversy, KPCC (Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee) had appointed a three-member committee to resolve the dispute.
The protests and opposition intensified because Youth Congress leaders from Kalyassery were overlooked for the non-teaching staff positions. The appointment of a CPM sympathizer, who is a relative of the MP, further escalated tensions. Local Congress leaders who protested against Raghavan faced disciplinary action, which was later withdrawn following the KPCC committee’s recommendation.
