Doctors say Gopan Swamy’s postmortem will be conducted at three levels

Thiruvananthapuram: The body of Neyyattinkara Gopan Swami was taken out today after breaking open his Samadhi. Later, the body was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for postmortem. Doctors said that three-level examination will be conducted during the postmortem.

They will check whether the poison was ingested, whether the death was due to injuries, or whether it was a natural death. Doctors also said that samples of internal organs will be collected to detect the poison. It will take at least a week for the results of the internal organ sample test to come. Radiology and X-ray tests will be conducted to find out if there are any injuries. The results will be available today.

The third test is to confirm whether it was a natural death. A decision will be made after assessing various circumstances, including the patient’s condition. A DNA test will also be conducted to scientifically prove whether the deceased was Gopan. Meanwhile, the elder son Sanandan was taken to the postmortem site. Although he initially refused, his son later agreed to go. The family will have to take over the body after the postmortem.
