Drug trafficking by courier, accused sentenced to 21 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 210000

Malappuram: The accused was sentenced to 21 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 210,000 in the case of drug smuggling from Goa through courier. Zakir Hussain was sentenced in the drug case. Malappuram Excise team seized 118.12 grams of MDMA, 0.93 grams of LSD stamp, 1.15 kilograms of ganja and 325.85 grams of hashish oil.

Although the trial of the second accused has been completed, he has not been sentenced as he has absconded. The first accused went absconding before the trial of the case was completed. The first and second accused, Rameez Roshan (30 years old) and Hashib Shaheen (29 years old) were arrested and remanded by Excise with the deadly drugs.
