DYFI has demanded a thorough investigation into the death of the young IB officer at the airport and has called for the immediate suspension of IB officer Sukant Suresh from central government service. Sukant has been absconding since the incident. The deceased woman’s family has consistently alleged Sukant’s involvement in her death from the very beginning.
It is shocking to learn that Megha was exploited, her bank account funds were misappropriated, and she was taken to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for an abortion using forged documents. It is also alleged that Sukant fabricated marriage documents. The abuse faced by a 24-year-old high-ranking official at a strategically important institution like an international airport, and her subsequent death, is extremely serious.
Police must conduct a comprehensive investigation into the role of IB officer Sukant Suresh in the death. He should be arrested and further legal action must follow. DYFI district leaders also demanded that Sukant, who is an Intelligence Bureau officer under the central government, be immediately suspended from service.
